24 Bit does give you more to work with and is convenient to not have to watch levels as much when recording FWIW. BTW normal CD specs are fine to work with. Thx for the response! Indeed we have wonderful tools to work with. For me and my voice work, it has made everything a lot easier - because it takes away so much of the guesswork to get a professional, air-worthy announce sound - even AFTER it gets Optimodded!

My attitude is that Izotope software is user-adjustable & non-destructive - so play with it & see what it can do for you. I think I have read on some other audio websites that some musicians aren't terribly pleased with NEVA's pitch-change feature because it works "too chromatically." I don't know what that means, exactly - "chromatically" as opposed to "diatonically," if that's a word? It sounds just fine on Optimodded FM Broadcast. Again, this isn't the most critical "audiophile audio file" production operation taking place on Planet Earth - I record at 44.1/16/mono, then boil it down to a 160 kbps MP3. I don't use the Pitch & Space faders - and for the most part, I am quite happy with the results I get just going with the "1.0" default setting on each fader - which is Izotope's "optimized suggestion" setting. I use Nectar Elements Vocal Assistant's "Clarity, De-Ess, Dynamics & Tone" faders to clean up some dry-voice comedy bits I cut for a radio friend who plays & "talks along" with them on the air. please understand that I am strictly in the "spoken word / voiceover" end of things - not music production.

Thx for helping the videos look like it's more using pitch for Autotune, so I may have jumped the gun!.Well. Not for finishes since I send my stuff out.įor vocals do you find Nectar useful? I have Elements and like it, although I use Elevate more. I would only be using to play something like harmonica to slightly pitchy guitars etc. Is it really specialized on doing pitch changing on vocals or can it be used on instruments. figured this would do pitch changing and I can use the extra features on vocals.

It was on sale for $25 and I need a pitch change tool. I got Nectar and have been too busy to try out. Thx for helping the videos look like it's more using pitch for Autotune, so I may have jumped the gun!. The price you got your bundle for sounds like a great deal.Īnd - on top of that - Izotope's customer/technical service people are very prompt and top-shelf.Hey quick question. I was going to try and find an alternative. I always wanted to get the RX7 for VO's but it always seemed to expensive. I also do VO's, I don't talk myself, but my wife. But for what I spent - it was some sort of "download special" for something like $79 - the "Elements Bundle" was a tremendous "enhancement investment" that I have thoroughly enjoyed using ever since.Īnd - on top of that - Izotope's customer/technical service people are very prompt and top-shelf.Hey, better late than never! I get a good sounding voice track after it's been kissed by NEVA and RIXRA - regardless of which mic I chose to use.Īnd I know I have a lot of other Izotope plug-ins that I'm not even using. Izotope's "Artificial Intelligence" seems mighty damned intelligent to me.

I use the Nectar Vocal Assistant and the RX7 Repair Assistant - both set for "Dialogue" - and what I am now sending out sounds "clean and pristine" on the air. I bought the Izotope Elements Bundle & it has done wonders for my dry voice tracks. I know you posted this almost a year ago now.
